Dr Senarath Edirimanne

Associate Professor Senarath Edirimanne is an accomplished specialist breast (oncoplastic and oncological) and endocrine (thyroid, parathyroid & adrenal) surgeon who has been providing multidisciplinary care for patients in Sydney since 2011.

A/Prof. Edirimanne obtained his undergraduate medical qualifications with honours from Flinders University, Adelaide.

He completed Specialist General Surgical Fellowship at Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007.

There after he undertook further subspecialist training in breast and endocrine surgery at Christchurch Hospital, Endocrine Surgical Units of Sir Charles Gairdner and Freemantle Hospitals in Perth and Westmead Breast Cancer Institute (BCI).  

A/Prof. Edirimanne consults patients in Kingswood (Nepean), Richmond, Bella Vista (Norwest Private Hospital), Wahroonga (Sydney Adventist Hospital).

He operates at Nepean Public, Nepean Private, Norwest Private, Sydney Adventist Hospitals.

A/Prof. Edirimanne is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in Discipline of Surgery at Nepean and Sydney Adventist Clinical Schools of University of Sydney.

He undertakes collaborative clinical, basic science and translational research into breast cancer, endocrine diseases and emergency general surgery, teaches medical students/surgical trainees and supervises post-graduate research students.

The research work get regularly presented in national and international conferences and published in internationally reputed journals.

– Assessment of increased calcium levels

– Surgery for hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid glands)

– Assessment of adrenal nodules (commonly an incidental finding on imaging)
